Join us for outstanding performances during this 2023 Woodstock Playhouse Theatre Festival Season as we celebrate the 85th season of the Woodstock Playhouse; originally established in 1938 by Robert Elwyn, a Woodstock Resident, Broadway/Film professional director/actor and member of one of Woodstock's oldest families.

The winner of ten Tony Awards including Best Musical when it debuted on Broadway in 1963, with Grammy and Academy Awards to follow, 'Hello, Dolly!' is one of the most beloved and long enduring musicals in the history of Musical Theatre.

With a story that steps on to the stage like a fanfare with Mrs. Dolly Gallagher Levi - who has won the stellar honor of becoming one of the most fabulous characters in musical theatre history - forms an unforgettable tapestry of twinkling love scenes, festive happy songs and a singularly optimistic celebration of living!

Dolly sets out to marry Horace Vandergelder, a well-known wealthy shop owner, while she also sets her eyes on his money, and using it to fulfill the saying of her late husband, Ephraim Levi who would say, "Money, pardon the expression, is like manure. It’s not worth a thing unless it’s spread around encouraging young things to grow.” During her escapades, Dolly uses her matchmaking skills to match up the young and beautiful Widow Molloy with Vandergelder’s head clerk, Cornelius Hackl; Cornelius’ assistant, Barnaby Tucker, with Mrs. Molloy’s assistant, Minnie Fay; and the struggling artist, Ambrose Kemper, with Mr. Vandergelder’s weeping niece, Ermengarde.

With the backdrop of Yonkers, New York, the voices and musical direction of the Woodstock Playhouse will set songs in the night skies like twinkling stars; including the classic heart-moving musical numbers 'Before the Parade Passes By', 'Put On Your Sunday Clothes', 'It Only Takes A Moment', 'Ribbons Down My Back', and 'Elegance'.

This performance is brought to the stage of the iconic Woodstock Playhouse featuring the Woodstock Playhouse Summer Theatre Cast 2023, a regional company of rising-professional performers widely acclaimed for some of the finest performances in our NY & Tri-State region.
