CASTING FOR THE 2020 SUMMER STOCK SEASON
As we approach the Summer of 2020, we look forward to celebrating the 10th Anniversary since the renovation and re-opening of the world famous Woodstock Playhouse under the direction of the current artistic team.
That being said, we at the Woodstock Playhouse are excited to announce that our 2020 season will include the musicals ‘Cabaret’, ‘Will Rogers Follies’, and ‘Charlotte’s Web’ along with ‘Grease’ and ‘My Fair Lady’ in consideration. We will also include a drama/comedy to be announced and special evenings of songs highlighting and showcasing our performers’ talents.
During this celebratory season, we are seeking cast members that are dynamic, talented, passionate and willing to join us on our adventure, as we embark into a Summer Festival of Theatre. Specifically, we are looking for strong Singer/Dancer (including tap)/Actors; those who can embrace interviews and media exposure, for the full summer season, June 1st through August 16th; with housing, meals and a salary provided.
Past performers from the Woodstock Playhouse Summer Stock Seasons include those who have become cast members of Broadway’s The Book of Mormon, Dance Captain & Cast Member of SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical, King Kong, Mean Girls, Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular, National and International Tours of West Side Story, Rent, Ghost, Fiddler on the Roof, A Chorus Line, 42nd Street, Once, Elf, and in Joel Grey’s Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish.
We work hard, become family, respect each other and ourselves. We look to be the best we can be and surpass the expected. If you see yourself as this kind of a person, then we welcome your callback.
In addition to casting through private college auditions, we will also be casting out of the A1 Auditions in January and the StrawHat Auditions in March. If you are not attending one of these auditions, you may audition with an online submission. If submitting online, please include your headshot, resume, vocal and dance reels including tap.
If after the review of your submitted materials we would like you to continue on with our audition process for the summer season, we will contact you with further information.
We are also hiring tech crew including Construction, Stage Manager, Lighting Design/Board Ops and interns. Those applying for tech positions, please submit resumes.
Please send all emailed submissions to WoodstockPlayhouseCasting2020@gmail.com
