Employment and Casting

As we approach the Summer of 2019, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the famous 1969 Woodstock Festival Concert: ‘3 Days of Peace & Music’, the eyes of the nation and world will be upon our “most famous small town in the world” located just 90 miles north of New York City; and Woodstock will be celebrating 180 days of the Arts this spring/summer/fall.

That being said, we at the Woodstock Playhouse have put together a dynamic Summer Season: 'Mama Mia!', 'Disney's Newsies', 'Deathtrap', 'Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical', plus we’ll be adding a show aimed at the young audience member.

During this exceptional season, we are looking for cast members that are dynamic, talented, passionate and willing to join us on our once-in-a-lifetime adventure, as we embark on our journey into a Summer Festival of Theatre during which the attention of the nation’s media will be upon us.

Specifically, we are looking for strong Singer/Dancer (including tap)/Actors; those who can embrace interviews and media exposure, and those who understand that the musical Hair does include full nudity. We hire for the full season, June 3rd through August 18th, provide housing, meals and a salary.

Past performers from our Summer Stock Season include those who have gone on to become cast members of Broadway’s The Book of Mormon, Dance Captain & Cast Member of SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical, King Kong, Mean Girls, Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular, and National and International Tours of West Side Story, Ghost, Fiddler on the Roof, A Chorus Line, 42nd Street, Once and Elf.

We work hard, become family, respect each other and ourselves. We look to be the best we can be and surpass the expected. If you see yourself as this kind of a person, then we welcome your application.

In addition to casting through private college auditions, we will also be casting out of the A1 Auditions in January and the StrawHat Auditions in March. If you are not attending one of these auditions, you may audition with an online submission. If submitting online, please include your headshot, resume, vocal and dance reels including tap.

If after the review of your submitted materials we would like you to continue on with our audition process for the summer season, we will contact you with further information.

We are also hiring tech crew including Sound Engineer, Construction, Stage Manager, and interns. Those applying for tech positions, please submit resumes.

Please send all emailed submissions to WoodstockPlayhouseCasting2019@gmail.com .
